The Atlanta Braves Game

That was the scene after a controversial “infield fly” call by the umpire out in shallow left field. And in the defense of the umpire, it was a judgement call. Had the umpire not of implemented the infield fly rule, the bases would have been loaded for the Braves. With one out. Who really knows the outcome after that. But what I will tell you is this; the Braves got some calls shifted their way as well. Like the called time out for David Ross on a strike-three swing. The very next pitch, he smacks a home run.

Then there was the Chipper Jones infield single. Jones was clearly out. But the throw pulled Allen Craig off the base. Supposedly. If you watch the replay, Jones was out. The thing that bothered me the most was how the fans handled themselves during the controversial infield fly call. A lot of people are utterly disgusted with what had happened. Throwing trash on the field? Uncalled for. Bad call or not. It’s the name of the game. These officials are trained professionals that are trying to make the right call. Let’s not forget that they are human after all. And they’re doing the best job they can.

Let’s try not to be like this guy, okay?
