Four Reasons Prince Fielder Shouldn’t be a Seattle Mariner
Rumor on the block is that the Seattle Mariners are going to attempt to go after Prince Fielder. We all know that the Seattle Mariners are a small market team stuck somewhere up in the Pacific Northwest with not another professional baseball team even remotely close. The nearest team is in Oakland. Or San Francisco. A mere 841 miles away. So why would the Mariners pursue a guy that’s asking $200 million dollars over an eight year span? I have no idea. Especially since the Mariners are in yet another “rebuilding” phase in their career. Does it actually make sense to pursue such a high value player when we have a bench full of guys that have the heart and fire to play everyday and be productive? It doesn’t make sense to me.
So without further ado….
Four Reasons Prince Fielder Shouldn’t be a Seattle Mariner
1. We have Dustin Ackley as a strong second basemen and a strong backup for the first base position.
2. When Dustin Ackley isn’t busy backing up first base we have a strong power hitter in Justin Smoak. He’s still young. But I bet he’ll turn into a 30 hr a season player.
4. And of course, he’s too expensive!
That is all.
