Dan Uggla Goes on a 33-Game Hitting Streak and all he Gets is a Lousy .231 BA

When this happened in Atlanta…

…I honestly thought the Braves were getting an all-star. Dan Uggla, in fact, IS an All-star caliber player. But this year proved otherwise. Dan Uggla is a career .259 hitter and last year he batted .287. Before his 33-game hit streak started he was batting a sad .178. I’m not hating on Dan Uggla. A hit streak is a hit streak, is a hit streak. Right? But what did a 33 game hit streak really accomplish for Dan Uggla? Not much…to say the least. He now bats .231. He did add 15 home runs, five doubles, and 32 RBI’s during that five week span of continuious hitting. Not only that but the Braves went 19-15. So it’s all good, Dan Uggla. You didn’t quite make history though. You did in Tribe land…but only Braves fans care about that. Dan Uggla now holds the longest hit streak ever in Braves history…but sadly 18 other dudes have done what you’ve just accomplished.
